چکیده

The fine-tuning principles are analyzed in search for predictions of top-quark and Higgs-boson masses. The modification of Veltman condition based on the compensation between fermion and boson vacuum energies within the Standard Model multiplets is proposed. It is supplied with the stability under rescaling and with the requirement of minimum for the physical v. e. v. for the Higgs field (zero anomalous dimension). Their joint solution for top-quark and Higgs-boson couplings exists for the cutoff Λ ≈ 2.3 · 10 GeV that yields the low-energy values mt = 151± 4GeV ; mH = 195 ± 7GeV .

Fine tuning in the Standard Model and Beyond

The fine-tuning principles are examined to predict the top-quark and Higgs-boson masses. The modification of the Veltman condition based on the compensation of vacuum energies is developed. It is implemented in the Standard Model and in its minimal extension with two Higgs doublets and Left-Right symmetric Model. The top-quark and Higgs-boson couplings are fitted in the SM for the lowest ultrav...

Taming the scalar mass problem with a singlet Higgs boson.

We investigate the fine-tuning problem in the Standard Model and show that Higgs boson and top quark masses consistent with current experimental bounds cannot be obtained unless one extends the particle spectrum. A minimal extension which achieves this involves addition of a singlet real scalar and one generation of vectorlike fermions. We show that this leads to a phenomenologically viable pre...

The fine-tuning principles are analyzed in search for estimations of heavy particle masses in the left-right (LR) symmetric model. The modification of Veltman condition based on the hypothesis of the compensation between fermion and boson vacuum energies within the LR Model multiplets is proposed. The hypothesis is supplied with the requirement of the stability under rescaling. With regard to t...

The top quark and Higgs boson masses and the stability of the electroweak vacuum

The ATLAS and CMS experiments observed a particle at the LHC with a mass ≈ 126 GeV, which is compatible with the Higgs boson of the Standard Model. A crucial question is, if for such a Higgs mass value, one could extrapolate the model up to high scales while keeping the minimum of the scalar potential that breaks the electroweak symmetry stable. Vacuum stability requires indeed the Higgs boson ...
